We offer unparalleled opportunity to lead and manage one of the largest renewable energy businesses with decades of history, while contributing to the global need for sustainable energy.Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for managing development and commercialization project opportunities at TerraForm Power, which has over 2 GW of operating utility-scale wind and solar assets generating cashflow for reinvestment in new assets, as well as reinvestment opportunities within the existing fleet including the addition of storage and other technologies to existing sites.This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures transaction risks are properly underwritten. The Originator is also responsible for spearheading commercialization activities for projects with internal and external stakeholders utilizing strong market and technical knowledge, managing and growing offtaker relationships, and clearly communicating and implementing with all parties involved.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management: Guide the team commercially during the development process, ensuring efficient project advancement while adhering to timelines and budget constraints.Market Evaluation: Evaluate market conditions and project feasibility to optimize project size and strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and market demands.Develop and implement commercial strategy related to market opportunities for repowered and new assets.Negotiate new power purchase agreements with utilities and C&I customers for portfolio of wind and solar assets.Develop and implement strategies to mitigate and manage commercial risks related to the structuring of long and short-term PPAs; e.g., basis risk, price risk, volumetric risk and other related hedgingoff-take strategies.Ensure compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements.Coordinate due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned terconnection and Permitting: Oversee the submission of interconnection requests and coordinate with permitting teams to assess project feasibility and regulatory compliance.Financial Analysis: Evaluate project financials, including cost estimation, interconnection costs, and financial levers to assess project viability and munity Outreach: Collaborate with community stakeholders and conduct outreach efforts to ensure community support and involvement throughout the project lifecycle.Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for renewable energy project development in alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.Lead and coordinate key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineeringdesign, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations.Act as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection.Construct contractual arrangements for project development, as well as agreements with consultants and subcontractors.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive measures are taken to address potential obstacles to project success.Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project status, milestones, financials, and other key metrics.Manage all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result.Requirements:5-12 years of development and commercialization market experience.Demonstrated experience in permitting, design, interconnection and overall project management across major milestones. Experience in mergers and acquisitions is a plus.Demonstrated experience in asset optimization, market operations, power originationmarketing, trading experience with an IPP or renewable energy company and renewable energy PPAs negotiations and execution within the past five years.Bachelor's Degree is a requirement. MBA is preferred.Position is based in NYCWillingness to travel up to 25%.Base Salary Range: $175k - $215k
