The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is currently accepting applications for a Financial Operations Coordinator to administer all aspects of accounting for the Special Events Department, including AP expenses, AR revenue, ticket sales, donor acknowledgements and receipts, in-house liquor inventory, internal reporting, and reconciliations in conjunction with the Museum's Accounting Department.Responsibilities:Administers all aspects of accounting for the Special Events Department, including AP (events, departmental expenses) with a focus on vendor relations; AR (corporate entertaining, trustee reimbursable events, miscellaneous reimbursements); and journal entries (as needed and monthly for liquor distribution and liquor profit). Sets up new vendors as needed.Facilitates data entry and maintenance of the Salesforce database on behalf of the Special Events Department.Processes incoming payments (checks, ACHs, wires, cash) for Museum benefit events and corporate events.Oversees door and after-party ticket sales for Museum benefit events, including online sales, customer service, troubleshooting, and processing of refunds as needed.Oversees Museum liquor inventory, pulls, returns, and accounting for each event. Performs monthly reconciliation of liquor accounts in Certinia and ensures compliance with secure inventory pletes monthly and ad hoc reconciliations for corporate, internal, and benefit events. Reconciles Special Events program in full for year-end close.Files income and expense accruals for year-end close and books pledges with proper documentation.Pulls weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports from Salesforce and other Museum systems, including revenue, expenses, liquor tax estimates, AR, and others as needed.Generates IRS-compliant receipts for Special Events donors and reprints as requested.Reconciles annual budgets for Museum events and programs including MoMA Nights, PopRally, Summergarden, exhibition celebrations, etc. and coordinates with other Museum offices as needed.Prepares, in consultation with Assistant Director of Development Operations, annual schedules for Accounting and year-end reports for audit and tax forms.Performs any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting and two years experience in financial andor accounting management, preferably with fundraising and events.Salesforce experience is a plus.Superior quantitative and communication skills.Ability to work independently against strict deadlines and with a wide variety of individuals in technical as well as functional roles.Reports to: Assistant Director of Development Operations and Director, Special Programming & Events and Affiliate ProgramsSalary: The salary for this position is $67,393 per annum.Application instructions: To apply, please visit MoMA Jobs.
