DescriptionThe Health Care Consultant will work closely with firm management to lead complex internal and external projects. This will involve hands-on work with client staff, providers, executives, vendors and other stakeholders to successfully implement innovative care models and improve health outcomes. The Health Care Consultant will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and technical skills in health care management, clinical redesign, financial modeling, network development, strategic planning, data analytics, andor organizational transformation. The successful candidate will have a general understanding of the health care environment and market issues at the federal, state and local level. FLSA Status Exempt Salary Range $80,000 - $90,000 Reports To VBC Director or ManagerDirect Reports None Location New York (Remote with travel); preference given to candidate in NY. Travel Up to 80% Work Type Regular Schedule Full Time Position Description: Work closely with additional members of the Consulting team, executives and staff to accomplish the goals, objectives and strategic plans for the company, continually seek opportunities to add value and differentiate our servicesProvide project management support, including managing day-to-day operations, maintaining work plans and timelines, preparing status reports and ensuring effective coordination with clients and team membersAssist in the development of proposals, project deliverables, white papers, and other client or internal materialsSupport performance improvement efforts, including process assessment, data collection and reportingDesign and develop analytic models using Excel to provide decision-support for consulting projectsAccountable for proactive risk management at various levels, including qualityfirm standards, operationalPM risks, communication, budget and resource constraintsDraft scopes of work and support active project management with team; support problem-solving initiatives alongside teamAssist in building tools for service line or technical area of expertiseLead or support related internal improvement initiatives and reporting processesMaintain deep understanding of our firm's service linesofferings and seek out opportunities to understand and participate in firm's business development pipeline and sales cycle. Support business development initiatives at the Consultant level, including: co-authoring one articles, creating sales presentations, supporting proposals, drafting speaker proposals, co-authoring case studies, and various networking activitiesEnsure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and ethical standardsQualifications: Master's degree in an applicable field preferred (e.g., MBA, MPH, MHA, MPA)1-3 years of health care andor consulting experience Open to traveling up to 80% (e.g., Monday - Thursday)Prior experience in at least two of the following areas preferred: Clinical program design, implementation andor operationsCare coordinationPopulation health managementHealth information technologyHealth plan or provider contractingHealth care policy with experience in CMS, Medicare, Medicaid and relatedMedicaid or other federal demonstration programsHealth care financeAbility to work effectively on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Skills related to effective project management, including strong work ethic, attention to detail, time management, ability to prioritize, problem solving, flexibility and willingness to learnFlexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessaryBenefits: As a firm passionate about health care, we're deeply committed to the health and wellness of our own team members.
