Key Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for laboring ,, including monitoring fetal heart rates, contraction patterns, and maternal vitals. Provide patient education and emotional support during labor and delivery, preparing patients for the birth process. Administer medications as ordered, including pain management (e.g., epidural anesthesia, IV medications). Assist with the delivery process, including providing immediate care to the newborn, such as resuscitation and initial assessments. Monitor and manage complications such as high-risk pregnancies, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and other obstetric conditions. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement a personalized care plan. Prepare and maintain accurate patient records, documenting labor progress, assessments, and interventions. Provide postpartum care, including monitoring the physical and emotional well-being of the mother and infant. Educate patients and families on post-delivery care, breastfeeding, newborn care, and recovery. Respond to emergency situations promptly, utilizing advanced skills to manage maternal or fetal distress. Ensure a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control standards. Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred. Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing preferred, Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
