Description Multiple full-time, permanent positions available in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The Assistant Director, Programs, Transitional Housing is responsible for supporting the 247 operations including overseeing clinical and case management services. The Assistant Director supervises clinical and case management staff and with guidance from the Director, provides support to subcontractors providing security, medical, psychiatric, and food services. The Assistant Director helps to ensure the Safe Havens are a safe, attractive housing alternative for street homeless individuals, and expedites client placement into appropriate permanent housing and supportive services. The Assistant Director works primarily during business hours Monday-Friday, with off hours availability in case of emergency or for special projectsinitiatives. This is an onsite position.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage social service delivery including program oversight, staff supervision, and training Liaison with external stakeholders including service partners, government representatives, community stakeholders, hospital personnel, and other agencies to ensure responsive and effective service planning and program operations Attend relevant meetings required by the Department of Homeless Services Provide clinical and operational direction and leadership to the program; help troubleshoot, problem solve, and strategize solutions around client engagement and challenging behaviors Promote a staff and resident culture that emphasizes housing placement as a measurement of success; ensure that clients are ready for housing placement Oversee development and implementation of individual service plans; ensure documentation of client contact and progress is comprehensive and timely Assess and evaluate client functioning Supervise and conduct case conferences Coordinate delivery of care with multiple service providers, particularly outreach teams Work collaboratively with outreach teams to ensure individuals succeed in transitional housing and avoid return to homelessness Clinical supervision available. Requires rotational on-call responsibilities (usually just a phone call is required). Comes with some of the best health care benefits offered by a NYC non-profit - includes pet health care. Annual Salary Range: $75,000-$82,000.Position Requirements Master's degree required.Must have supervisory experience or team management experience, but does not have to be in the social services sector. Experience is preferred working with the homeless or other vulnerable populations and working with a harm reduction perspective.
