In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.What you will be doingPatient Access Specialist ITuesday-Saturday1pm - 9pmHSS Facility offers physician office visits, radiology, pre-surgical screening, surgeries and rehabilitation services. The Patient Access Specialist (PAS) I is a highly visible customer service position that is responsible for scheduling, pre-registration, and registration of patients in person and by phone using the Epic system.The Patient Access Specialist (PAS) I is an entry level multifaceted position that works with interdisciplinary team members in the management of patient flow. The PAS I spends most of the day completing repetitive core PAS tasks for one or more functional area and meets standard productivity and quality expectations.Responsibilities: Provide exceptional customer service to all patients, visitors, and customersInterview patients and accurately enter and update patient demographics, personal information, and medical historyCollect and scan legal IDs, insurance cards, signed consent forms, third party liability documents, and advance care plansObtain electronic andor phone benefit verifications, coordinating benefits, determining participating and non-participating insurance coverageCollect co-payments and out of pocket paymentsManage bed placement by coordinating bed assignment for post up surgical patients and emergency admissionsResolve patient checklists and workqueue encountersAnswer incoming calls and provide assistance by addressing inquiries or directing callers to the appropriate department for further supportPerform other related duties incidental to the work described hereinCover GreeterWelcome deskRequired QualificationsSkills:High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), may include specialized or vocational coursesMinimum 1 year in a healthcare or related customer service fieldDesired QualificationsSkills:Bed Management experience (highly desired)Strong computer skills, with proficiency in office automated tools: e-mail, outlook, and data entrySuperior written and oral communication skillsExceptional customer service skillsAbility to multi-taskAbility to work in a team environmentKnowledge of healthcare and health insuranceFamiliarity with medical terminologyDisplays positive attitudes towards assignments and othersAbility to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate percentagesNon-Discrimination PolicyHospital for Special Surgery is committed to providing high quality care and skilled, compassionate, reliable service to our community in a safe and healing environment.
