Job SummaryUnder direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services the Accounting Technician II performs a variety of accounting tasks to compile, prepare, review and verify financial and statistical records and funds. Process a variety of items as related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, purchasing, budget, benefits, accruals, and taxes. Additionally, the Accounting Technician II performs more complex accounting tasks and provides journey level expertise in monitoring, auditing, and assisting staff with the complex County financial system. Requirements QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & TRAINING: 1. Completion of an Associate of Arts degree in accounting, business administration or related field from an accredited college or university; and 2. Three years of accounting or payroll experience in an educational setting. Experience in the private sector may also be considered OR 1. Completion of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or closely related field from an accredited college or university; and 2. One year of accounting or payroll experience in an educational setting. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, andor other standard office equipment.
