Authorization Specialist Your Impact - The Authorization Specialist will workwith all clinics, Therapists, and insurance providers to ensure that all patients' get access to care. The Authorization Specialist serves as a valued member of the SPEAR team, helping patients on their path to getting back to life by obtaining approvals for Physical and Occupational therapy appointments. Your passion ensures that all clinics achieve operational targets, making it easy for patients to connect with our devoted team to receive the care they need. o Ensure to review and work the General Authorization Dashboard o Ensure to review and work the BAUTH and Follow-up Dashboard every day o Collect 97% or greater of the expected completed submission forms. o Respond to messages and or emails within 2 hours in receipt. o Go that one step further; send a reminder note to providers to complete their authorizations Empathy & Service: You exhibit 5-star customer service for all Spear patients through empathy. You respond efficiently and accordingly because you understand their feelings and needs.Ensure proper phone and email etiquette when answering calls and replying to emails i.e., Good Morning, thank you for calling Spear, How can I help you? Accountability: You are a champion of customer access, accountable for ensuring our financial process never keeps a single New Yorker from getting back to life. You are committed to our patients, and their physicians, by navigating through the financial processes in healthcare to get them the therapist and the treatment they need. Schedule management a. Maintain Claim Delay at b. Ensure all open tasks are completed weekly c. Ensure all authorizations submissions are sent within 24-48 hr. of initial evaluation. d. Work all in-network payor accounts e. Update of all received approved authorizations to accounts with in 24hrs. f. Communicate with providers daily on items required from them for submissioni. Ensure BAUTH and authorization Authorization Dashboards are worked daily j. Maintain write offs for authorization issues at Requirements - 1 year Physical Therapy Authorization experience or any other equivalent experience preferred. Your Team •Report to: Lead Authorization Specialist•Primary Interactions: Clinical Directors, Therapist Teams, Regional CC,, Customer Service Center Team, Care Coordinators, Verifications Specialist, and RCM Manager $21 - $23 an hour
