We take great pride in moving high-touch, high-security freight in industries where reputation and track record are paramount.Location: Hybrid(Haddonfield, NJ + Remote) Position Type: Full-time ACCOUNTABILITIES:Positions Tucker as a superior vendor to its customers, a superior customer to its vendors, a superior employer to its staff, and as a fully compliant taxpayer to local, state, and federal regulators, by: Ensuring timely invoicing to customers, timely vouchering and payment to vendors, and timely and accurate accounting for all business operations Trial balance accuracyGeneral ledger maintenance including current and prior period adjustments Accuracy in GAAP based accounting, including monthly journal entries and adjustments in proper periods Timely resolution of AR and AP exceptions (including consistent collaboration with other departments) Accuracy in management of accounts receivable and accounts payable sub ledgers Auditing of expenses and expense accounts to ensure proper recording and GL allocations Management of corporate credit cards RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintaining 13-week cash flow projections and ensuring all inputs are consistently accuratePerforming bank reconciliations and other account reconciliationsPreparing the Daily Flash report and ensuring all inputs are consistently accurateEntering payroll in payroll software system and accurately recording journal entriesGenerating weekly and monthly settlement checks and ensuring prompt paymentMaintaining required personnel records, tax records, and business documentsAssisting and collaborating with People & Culture for New Team Member Onboarding and Offboarding processesPreparing annual 1099 filingsHelping Tucker to become a "Broker of Choice" for motor carriers by executing a payment process that is predictable, reliable and an overall positive experienceCollaborating with operating teams and updating accounting processes to create efficienciesBacking up credit staff to issue new credit and make ongoing credit adjustmentsHelping achieve scale & reduce waste by taking proactive measures to ensure that subordinate staff members within the accounting department are maximally productive at all timesAssisting Controller in overseeing purchaseleasefinancebanking activities and record-keeping of corporate resources by maintaining records related to this activity and providing data, reports, and information to aid decision-makingInforming the accountable Tucker staff of any new vendor agreements to assist the company with its contract management, storage, and retrieval process and in keeping compliant with the company's Critical Vendor policyChampions, Promotes & Inspires Core Values internally & externally; and as a Manager ensures adherence and demonstration of Core Values by all underlying subordinate staffAssisting in the annual budget processAssisting in creation of monthly financial packageAssisting in investigation of variances against budgetCreating (with Controller) and monitoring accounting department KPI'sAs a manager, ensure cultural assimilation process is carried out at team levelReport observed ineffective resources and inefficient processes to ControllerOther responsibilities and projects as assigned by ControllerQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Accounting3-5 years' experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or Staff AccountantA deep knowledge and understanding of accounting software systemsKnowledge of GAAP and double-entry accounting PREFERRED SKILLS High organizational skillsExceptional supervisory and management skillsProven workflow and process masterMS Excel intermediate to advancedProven ability to maintain confidentialitySuperior problem-solving and analytical skillsAble to work independently, have proven time management skills and can effectively prioritize tasksWillingness to help others and display an enthusiastic attitudeProficiency in MS Office and aptitude to learn other related technologiesStrong organizational skillsStrong presentation skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience in TransportationLogisticsProcurement fieldEqual Opportunity Employment: Tucker Company is dedicated to promoting and supporting diversity within our workplace.
