The Director has responsibility for the critical role our selling colleagues play throughout the customer journey. From the way we engage our guests to colleague knowledge of products and styling to client development, the Director and their team craft the vision, behaviors, programming and tactics to support the Bloomingdale's selling organization. The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams throughout the organization including Stores, Learning & Development, Merchants, Site, and the totality of the Customer Strategy & Experience team to support Bloomingdale's strategic objectives with powerful selling.Essential Functions: Selling Journeys and Ceremony: Designs frameworks for selling that meet the broad needs of an upscale department store, while supporting key customer experiences and product categories with necessary nuance. Product & Styling Expertise: In partnership with Senior Manager, leads approach for product and selling knowledge. Defines expectations by role and partners with Merchants, Fashion Office, Stores and L&D to craft seasonal and ongoing programming in support of product activation through the voice of our selling colleagues. Client Development: Drives customer retention and share of wallet growth through clear vision and expectations for behaviors, skills and tactics. With Senior Manager, defines nuances in expectations and approach within key product categories and roles. Loyalty Program and Marketing Calendar Activation: Works cross-functionally with Marketing and other partners to activate seasonal campaigns through selling colleagues. Leverages Loyallist Program to drive frequency of visits, retention and growth in spend. Maximizes promotional calendar through clear communication of offers. Team Leadership & Talent Development: Leads team to success through collaborative work across the organization. Approaches work with high curiosity and connectivity both internally and externally. Invests in each member of the team, providing consistent partnership and feedback to grow and retain talent. KPIs and Measurement: Defines Selling KPIs that appropriately motivate, drive desired behavior and measure success. Ensure reporting is quality, connected, and timely to support success of the organization Selling Technology: Leads team and partners in the pursuit, development, maintenance of technology that equips selling organization to deliver CX and selling objectives. Creates plans and strategies to activate tools within the selling organization. Invests in partnerships with Macy's and external technology partners to ensure roadmaps support Bloomingdale's strategic objectives. Qualifications and Competencies: 5+ years related experience Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels Strong organization skills; Can manage timelines and workload to deliver projects on time Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs Proficient in Microsoft applications like PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Word, etc. Physical Requirements: Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions Frequently liftmove up to 25lbs This job description is not all-inclusive, and Macy's Inc. reserves the right to amend this job description at any time.
