Brookfield is committed to the development of our people through challenging work assignments and exposure to diverse businesses.Job DescriptionDebt managementTrack debt instruments across the entire real estate groupOn an ongoing basis, ensure the debt management system includes the most current and complete information, taking into account new investments and refinancingsOn a quarterly basis, prepare files and tables with debt details at multiple levels of consolidation within BrookfieldAssist with managing subsidiary teams in respect of quarterly submissions, queries and reconciling detail per debt management system with accounting systemsRun reports and prepare analyses to assess effectiveness of hedge positions related to interest rate exposureCollect and review covenant calculations and sensitivity analyses from subsidiaries around the globe, tracking at-risk covenants and mitigantsCollect and monitor information about new and existing guarantees from across the group at the investment-, fund- and corporate-levels. Analyze the potential liquidity impact from these guarantees on the groupPrepare and analyze various consolidated covenant calculationsPrepare debt analyses and related presentations for managementConsolidate and prepare debt-related financial statement disclosuresAssist with an ongoing project to expand the use and functionality of our debt management systems to cover covenant and guarantee information associated with our debt instrumentsFinancial statement analysis, including variance analysis, currency analysis and analysis by investment to support the quarterly forecast and annual business plan processesIdentify unusual or unexpected variances for follow-upClearly summarize variance explanations in writing and verbally to the teamPrepare files and tables for ad hoc analyses that are clear and easy to understand, leveraging reports and information from various systemsRun reports and prepare analyses to support hedging activities related to foreign currency equity exposurePrepare internal calculations of credit ratings modelsExperience with Bloomberg Terminal, Quantum, OneStream, Chatham or automation of data in another system is a plusCandidate Profile:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field with 1-3 years of work experience requiredHigh attention to detailExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and in a team settingDemonstrate curiosity and desire to be a "student of business" (self-learning and asking the right questions)Always bring a positive, approachable, and "can-do" attitude to workplaceAbility to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentExperience with hedging instruments and strategies welcomeStrong Excel and PowerPoint skillsExperience with Bloomberg Terminal, Quantum, OneStream, Chatham or automation of data in another system is a plusCPA preferredSalary Range: $90k - $100kOur compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive.
