OverviewWe're seeking an experienced and talented Controller to join our team. We are growing exponentially, and you would be a pivotal contributor to this growth, with the opportunity to lead and define your role. Primary Responsibilities:Own our accounting and financial records. Process and review financial statements Design, build, and implement sustainable monthly reporting processes and systems in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders Proactively work with departments to understand and account for transactions accurately and in line with GAAP and other regulatory requirements Streamline reporting structures to meet regulatory and counterparty reporting requirements in the US- and eventually- internationally Lead interactions with 3rd parties by preparing financial schedules, regulatory submissions, statements, and proactively managing requests Manage the daily, weekly, and monthly reporting process and ensure timely deliverables Develop the foundation for a flawless external reporting organization by identifying and implementing process and controls to satisfy requirements and enhance the overall control structure Manage and grow an accounting team Work cross functionally with other members of the wider organization to deliver scalable solutions to support the business Support the Chief Financial Officer on ad-hoc projects Oversee payroll and related payroll tax compliance Preferred Qualifications:Is interested in alternative assets andor capital markets Holds a CPA or equivalent certificationHas 8+ years of accountingcontrollership experience within financial services; broker-dealer, Fintech, or cryptocurrency Experience with SEC and other regulatory filings Experience hiring, managing, coaching and scaling up teams and processes Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, humility, and an ability to work independently to figure out solutions to time sensitive issues Experience complying with international reporting requirements Experience leading financial aspects of Soc2 compliance approval Has hands-on experience with ERP systems and system implementations Is proficient with Microsoft Excel and can find ways to speed up or automate manual processes Is a team player and is highly responsive to internal and external requests Currently holding or planningwilling to sit for the Series 27 (plus)
