Union Square Events Position Title: Director of Catering ServicesReports To: Director of OperationsSalary: $84,500 to $167,000 Based on expOther Forms of Compensation: Bonus Founded in 2005 as Hudson Yards Catering, Union Square Events is a culinary and operations leader in the hospitality industry, partnering with a diverse portfolio of best-in-class clients. We produce one-of-a-kind catered events and unparalleled dining experiences in a variety of cultural, corporate, entertainment, and private venues throughout New York City and beyond. Job Summary Working as the Director of Catering Services you are responsible for maintaining and establishing all costs and quality standards to ensure superior service and to maximize profits. You will work independently with a direct line to the client. You are expected to maintain excellent relationships with employees, guests and the client. You will be responsible for promoting the professional growth and development of the entire team. In addition, you will foster strong interdepartmental relations and integrate the catering service department with the facility plan of operations. Key Responsibilities: Work directly with the Service Managers in other regions as well as all regional Catering Directors to ensure all catering events are carried out according to the standards of the company and client.Ensure high levels of customer service are executed for each terview, hire, train, as well as assist with scheduling all butlers and captains within the local staffing pool.Conduct orientation for all Catering DirectorsManagers regarding Company standards of serviceHandle and resolve all employee relations issues with the partnership of the teamExecute all coaching, counseling and follow up training for all employees according to Company Policies and Procedures in partnership with the Director, Staffing Services.Performs related duties and special projects as assignedSupports Catering Directors and Managers with staffing budgets and maintains financial accountabilities as it relates to service Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree is preferred or equivalent professional experienceStrong knowledge of food, industry trends and fine dining points of serviceA minimum of 4-6 years of experience in managing catering events The ability to supervise food service and clean up is also essentialTIPs certification requiredServSafe certification recommended Superior quantitative, oral and written communications and problem-solvingstrategizing skillsExcellent overall computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPointProactive mindset to anticipate and support changes in our businessConformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behaviorExceptional customer service abilities Apply to Union Square Events today!Union Square Events is a member of Compass Group USAClick here to Learn More about the Compass Story Compass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
