The primary responsibilities of the position will be to evaluate, define, recommend and close new revenue generating partnership deals and grow and manage existing partnerships.We're looking for someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and will find new opportunities through extensive analysis and research. As a key member of the business development team you will be influencing the future of Business Insider, working directly with executives and leaders to find business deals that drive growth and innovation. The Vice President, Business Development reports directly to the Chief Business Development Officer and sits on the Business Development team. This position is based in New York City with an in-office presence of at least 2-3 days per week.Key Responsibilities:Identify, source, structure, negotiate, and close new syndicationlicensing deals, and other revenue generating partnershipsManage, optimize and grow current syndicationlicensing partnershipsPartner with the Video team to drive video distribution, inventory, and revenue growthWork with the editorial team on 3rd party procurement agreements and external vendor managementDevelop financial models to estimate the potential value of opportunities and the cost of resources required to execute and implement partnerships Work closely with a variety of teams in the company through all aspects of opportunity development, including idea generation, sourcing partner targets, the business case, producttechnology requirements, financial modeling, and integrationThe Ideal Candidate Has:Business development experience and a track record in the digital media arenaComprehensive understanding of digital business modelsExperience reviewing and redlining agreements, working autonomously with the legal team to close dealsSuperior research, organizational, time management, problem solving and communication skillsGood understanding of UX, features, and reader behavior, with a product and reader mindsetSalary & Benefits:Base salary: $165,000 - $200,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)Additional bonuscommissionUnlimited PTO, 10 paid holidays, and 16 weeks of parental leaveComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plansMatched and vested 401k planAccess to resources for financial planning guidance, family planning services, mental health reach out and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)Additional benefits include commuter benefits, phone reimbursement, gym membership discounts, and more Business Insider is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and, when making employment decisions, does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sex, sexual orientation, age, nationality or national origin, religion, disability, familial status, and military or veteran status.
