Description:Established in 1970, Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, P.C. is one of the area's largest and most respected orthopedic specialty groups. In support of high-quality patient care, we are currently seeking an experienced Medical Administrative Assistant (MAA) to support various physician practices within our organization.This is a float position where you may be scheduled to work in any of our area locations daily. Fast paced and challenging, you will interact with our physicians, patients, and other departments to provide the highest level of care for our patients. In this position, the MAA will regularly travel to our offices located in Hartford, Manchester, Plainville, Farmington, Rocky Hill, Glastonbury, and Enfield; start times will vary daily and may be as early as 6:30 a.m. flexibility is a must!The MAA's primary purpose is to provide administrative support to our physicians and create an exceptional experience for the patient. Functions of the job include, but may not be limited to:Scheduling office visits, ancillary tests,Triaging callsPre-certifying procedures and testsAnswering a heavy volume of telephone callsPrepares charge ticketsObtaining andor verifying patient demographic information including health history and insurance informationChecking out patientsScanningEnsuring patient confidentialityRegular communication with clinical and administrative staffTravel between our various sites is requiredOur ideal candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic, able to demonstrate a mature, dependable, and responsible approach while effectively assisting the physician's practice in all interactions, be a highly committed team player, a proactive self-starter, dependable, and able to be flexible in a changing environment.PM22Requirements:Requirements of this position include, but may not be limited to:A BSBS is preferredAt least two years of experience in a medicalsurgical officeExcellent computer skills, including Epic and working with Epic work quesSuperior written, oral communication, and customer service skills; able to communicate empatheticallyFamiliarity with medical terminology and codingStrong problem solving skillsExcellent organizational skills, detail oriented and able to prioritize and multi-taskAble to follow written and verbal directionsAbility to work collaboratively and efficiently within a teamAble to manage multiple phone lines simultaneouslyA valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel between our office locationsPM22PI9797c07ce945-26289-35874407
