As the Sr. Manager of the Chief Engineer organization for the Integration and Advanced Development (IAD), and Submarine Development and Production (SDP) Sub market segments in Manassas, VA this role drives the strategy investment and performance of engineering program teams in support of the Undersea Warfare Market Segment. This position directly manages and develops a staff of Engineering Program Managers (EPMs) assigned to individual programs within the MES, SE&I, ISIS, Seawolf SCS, and trainer segments of the IAD and SDP portfolios. This role also requires coordination with the ARCI and SQQ-89 CE Sr Manager to provide the single E&T POC for the IAD and SDP submarket segment directors. Other duties include: Ensures engineering technical, cost, schedule, and other commitments are met or exceeded. Ensures each EPM is prepared to manage the high pace and demanding business rhythm of their program. Anticipates customer feedback and advises EPMs of customer expectations. Ensure effective and efficient implementation of metrics and tools to proactively manage the engineering content of programs. Technical leadership with strong understanding of the ASW enterprise and combat systems for Engineering, providing support and assigning qualified EPMs as appropriate. Customer interaction including briefings to customers on engineering progress, issues, and recommendations as well as providing support to the business area Capture Managers for proposals and business development for technical strategy. Have proactive discussions with EPMs on strategies to assure a welcoming workplace. Leads the technical team in meeting capture schedules. Ensures engineering complies with business operating policies. Assists in definitionsolicitation of associated New Business Acquisition Expense (NBAE) requirements. Lead andor personally participates in development of initial program plans, customer Statements of Work (SOW) and subcontractor SOWs. Support negotiation of technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and SOWs. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $164,300 - $289,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
