(Please visit responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities. Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids. Assist in the development of solutions for technical problems. Work with an experienced engineer mentor.As an Engineering Intern or Co-Op, your task is to assist in design, analyze building systems or site developmentpublic works projects, and assist in preparation of drawings and specifications for bidding and construction by contractors. Your work will be based on your area of study and more specifically described as follows:Civil Engineering Intern Co-Op: Bridge structures Complex urban and rural roadways Streetscapes Intersection improvements and roundabouts Safety and beautification improvements Trailsshared use paths Private site development projects Public utilityinfrastructure improvementsStructural Engineering Intern Co-Op: Steel building structures Concrete building structures Post-tensioned concrete structures Wood building structures High-Rise structures Fabric structuresElectrical Engineering Intern Co-Op: HighMedium voltage power distribution systems Low voltage systems; fire alarm, sound, paging, video, security, nurse call, medical telemetry Generator emergencystand-by power systems InteriorExterior building lighting & lighting controlsMechanical Engineering Intern Co-Op: Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems (HVAC) Pumping and piping systems Control systems Plumbing systems Fire Protection systemsThis position involves interpreting and applying local and national code requirements as part of the design for the safety of the public.Minimum Requirements:Civil Engineering Intern Co-Op: Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's Degree in Civil EngineeringStructural Engineering Intern Co-Op: Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural design emphasis and completion of introductory steel and concrete course workElectrical Engineering Intern Co-Op: Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or another Engineering degree with significant course work or work experience related to Electrical EngineeringMechanical Engineering Intern Co-Op: Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with course work in thermodynamics and fluid mechanicsPreferred Qualifications: Willingness to learn new skills and to work towards continuous improvement Ability to work on multiple projects in a collaborative environment Excellent communication skills Have work authorization for unlimited full-time employment after graduationWHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK AT KORDA?
