JOB TITLE: Substitute Specialized Minivan Driver (7D) JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred Requirements: Must be 21 years of age or older Must have 3 years or more of driving experience in the US Valid drivers license Valid 7D license (or able to obtain) Have a good driving record Pass a CORI and SORI background check Pass a fingerprint check Must provide an unattested driver history Skills: Maintain confidentiality at all times Actively engage students during transport Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in English with students, parents, teachers and Medway staff Work as a team player Ability to be flexible with schedule, route, etc Punctuality Physical Demands: Must be able to lift (up to 20 lbs.) REPORTS TO: Transportation Coordinator JOB GOAL: Transport students (up to age 22) to and from various schools in a safe and timely manner, completing the required paperwork, and following protocols set in place by the Transportation Department. Must enjoy working with children, and always possess the ability to show patience and empathy. Job hours are per diemas needed Monday- Friday, and are based on a split shift (morning and afternoon) with various early release days following school calendars. Routes could go as far as MetroWest and Boston Area depending upon where the student goes to school. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide safe and timely transport of Medway students to and from the schoolprograms they attend. 2. Perform daily safety checks of vehicle and equipment, reporting any problems to the Transportation Coordinator. 3. Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of vehicle. 4. Ensure that the vehicle has adequate gasoline prior to beginning of the route(s). 5. Operate vehicle(s) in accordance with all Federal and State traffic laws. 6. Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, student and mileage logs. 7. Provide First Aid only as trained and required by the situation. 8. Secure students andor equipment with any restraints, seat belts, car seats, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the safety and well-being of students. 9. Assist students to safely enter and exit the vehicle as needed. 10. Deal effectively with behavior issues during the route. DriverMonitor must report any problems or concerns to the Transportation Coordinator and file an incident report. 11. Release students only to individuals identified as approved for release and contact the transportation office when in question. 12. Follow emergency protocols printed in the Van DriverMonitor Manual. 13. Additional job duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hours: Per Diem As Needed Basis
