Elmhurst Hospital Center (EHC) is the major tertiary care provider in the borough of Queens. Operates x-ray equipment, develops images, and prepares radiological areas, equipment, supplies and contrast materials. There are four (4) Assignment Levels within this class of positions; all personnel perform related work.Duties & Responsibilities1. Supervises the delivery of radiological services, in accordance with established standards and procedures, for the service area or unit.2. Recommends changes and improvements relating to the delivery of radiological services.3. Participates in the development of training programs for radiographic personnel, ancillary personnel and allied health care professionals. Demonstrates new or revised techniques, procedures and equipment.4. May perform radiologic procedures, as required.5. Performs special procedures including diagnostic and interventional radiography (e.g., C.T., M.R.I., and Mammography).6. Recommends area assignment of personnel to coordinate activities within the department with other activities and services and represents the department in interdepartmental operations and meetings.7. Participates in quality assurance activities, including coordination, control and maintenance of technical equipment.8. Participates in and coordinates procurement and storage of supplies and makes recommendations regarding supply and equipment needs.9. Performs research and participates in special projects involving evaluation of equipment and delivery of service.10. May be assigned duties and responsibilities of immediate Supervisor in their absence on a temporary basis.Minimum Qualifications1. For Supervisory Assignments: a valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the NYSDOH; and two (2) years of Radiologic Technologist experience performing duties consistent with Assignment Levels I and II, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.2.
