Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers.Brown & Brown's Risk Solutions team, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for a Catastrophe Modeling Analyst to join the team in Atlanta, GA.As a Catastrophe Modeling Analyst, you will be involved in day-to-day clientprospect support and placement, conducting research and development in the CAT modeling and Insurtech spaces, and contributing to larger-scale analytics projects.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Perform data management and risk modeling tasks in an efficient and error-free mannerProvide suggestions related to the improvement of property exposure data cleansing, process automation, warehousing, organization, querying, and reportingParticipate in working relationships with our third-party analytics vendors (modeling firms, software providers, etc.Research and evaluate scientific assumptions related to the various modules with catastrophe models and effectively communicate findings and output sensitivities to key internal and external stakeholders.Assist our management team in the design and development of proprietary IT systems to improve the quality, and streamline the delivery, of analytical content provided to our brokerage teams.Develop and deliver clearly formulated communications explaining key findings from the review of risk model outputs in a financial setting.Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, Meteorology or other natural sciences.0 - 2 years of working experience in a related field.Highly proficient in MS Office with exceptionally strong Excel skills, VBA skills a strong plus.Experience programming in SAS and SQL is a strong plus.Knowledge of GIS software packages is a plus.Must have strong analytic and quantitative reasoning abilities and enjoy problem-solving.Must be self-motivated and looking to thrive in a highly entrepreneurial pensation & Perks:Excellent growth and advancement opportunitiesCompetitive pay based on experienceDiscretionary time offGenerous benefits package: health, dental, vision, etc.Employee Stock ProgramEducation Assistance Program - tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment assistance, etc.Teammate Benefits & Total Well-BeingWe go beyond standard benefits, focusing on the total well-being of our teammates, including:Health Benefits: MedicalRx, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance Financial Benefits: ESPP; 401k; Student Loan Assistance; Tuition Reimbursement Mental Health & Wellness: Free Mental Health & Enhanced Advocacy ServicesBeyond Benefits: Paid Time Off, Holidays, Preferred Partner Discounts and more.
