This Catering Culinarian will work closely with our Corporate Pastry Chef and our Catering Chef to ensure all Dickie Brennan culinary standards are met. Our corporate pastry department prepares all breads, desserts and frozen desserts in-house and this standard of freshness extends to our Catering team as well. This candidate will also execute savory items as needs and menus require. Professional baking pastry experience is required to be considered for this position, degree optional. The ideal candidate must have a well-rounded knowledge of kitchen operations and techniques, enjoy a learning kitchen and is an experienced, hard-working and committed culinary professional who shares in our mission of providing the finest quality New Orleans fare to our guests. The entire team at Dickie Brennan & Company remains dedicated to delivering superior dining experiences through serving locally sourced, updated versions of classic New Orleans cuisine in all of restaurants and all catering events.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Working in an all-scratch kitchen with fresh, seasonal ingredientsPreparing and executing menu items according to recipes and company standardsEnsuring a superior experience beyond our Guests' expectationsPositive energy with a passion for learning, hospitality and bakingpastryAbility to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, teamwork environmentAbility to multi-taskUphold proper safety and sanitation habits at all timesPrior bakingpastry andor culinary experience in an upscale, high-volume environmentStrong communication skills and work ethicOther duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS:Minimum of 3 years industry experience with at least 1 year in pastry focused environmentAbility to read and write in English with excellent verbal, interpersonal and communication skillsServSafe certification required (can be received in-house)Strong organizational, multi-tasking, time management, follow-up and analytical skills with solid attention to detail and accuracyInternet skills and basic computer skills including use of e-mails (Microsoft Outlook) and information gatheringAbility to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with a customer service orientationStrong managerial skills and able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple responsibilitiesWork is performed in a restaurant with varied temperatures. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, crouch, kneel, lift, push and pull. May occasionally lift, push, pull or move items weighing up to 30 pounds.Manual dexterity is essential.
