Two or more years of operating room experience preferred.License: Current licensure as a Registered NurseCertifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS)- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Must-Have: - Ability to scrub and circulate- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as neededJob Description:- Provide 1:1 patient care to individuals before, during, and after surgery for various cases, including general surgery, orthopedics, vascular, ENT, ophthalmology, urology, endoscopy, and gynecology.- Deliver direct patient care to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics.- Demonstrate knowledge of anesthetic drugs, their actions, and side effects.- Exhibit knowledge of arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, spinal, and epidural catheters, and document appropriately.- Perform pre-op and post-op patient care, addressing psychosocial, physical, and general aspects related to the surgical environment plan of care.- Develop appropriate priorities when performing circulating duties, including managing emergency situations.- Open sterile items correctly and transfer them to the sterile field. - Pour sterile solutions into the sterile field, ensuring all medicationssolutions are accurately labeled.- Perform and document all surgical counts in accordance with standards and procedures.- Oversee flash sterilization of items, ensuring sterility with process parameters, documentation, and transfer of items to the sterile field.- Handle, document, and label all surgical specimens and cultures properly.- Order, handle, and administer blood products and blood work correctly.- Safely operate mechanical, electrical, and powered equipment according to manufacturer instructions.- Communicate effectively with the surgical team about patient conditions.- Maintain surgical standards, universal precautions, and departmental procedures for pre-op, intra-op, and post-op patient care.
