Carpet Care Specialist

This position supports general maintenance activities inside and outside the building.PAY: $20.00 per hourSCHEDULE: 40 hours per week; The hours for this role will align within the following: Monday-Thursday: 12PM-8:30PM & Friday-Sunday: 1PM-9:30PM. NOTE: The manager will work with the new hire to determine which 2 days they will have off, availability to work weekends and have flexibility with scheduling depending on the needs of the museum is required. POSITION SUMMARYPerform thorough and efficient cleaning of carpets in all spaces of the Museum spect carpets for stains, dirt, and other issues and determine appropriate cleaning methods and solutions.Operate carpet cleaning equipment, including steam cleaners, extractors, and vacuum cleaners, in a safe and effective manner.Pre-treat and spot-treat carpet stains using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques. Employ proper carpet cleaning techniques, such as shampooing, power scrubbing, hot water extraction, dry cleaning, or encapsulation, depending on the carpet type and condition.Ensure carpets are thoroughly cleaned and dried to prevent mold or mildew growth.Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including proper handling and disposal of cleaning solutions and waste materials.Keep abreast of industry trends, new cleaning techniques, and equipment advancements to enhance skills and knowledge.Uphold high standards of customer service by addressing visitor concerns, answering questions, and providing recommendations for carpet maintenance and care.General daily cleaning duties as scheduled and assigned like vacuuming, dusting, mopping, restroom cleaning and restocking, polishing chrome, glass and miscellaneous surfaces, general disinfecting of Museum surfaces and props.
