Over the past 224 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce.The New York Post is looking for a creative, versatile Design Editor (Various Shifts Available) to join our fast-paced newsroom. If you have a passion for bold visuals, a digital-first mindset, and the skills to turn ideas into eye-catching designs, this role is for you. As a key member of our Design Team, you'll help bring stories to life across digital and social platforms, as well as print.Responsibilities:Design compelling digital visuals including interactive infographics, illustrations, composites and maps.Stay ahead of design trends, tools, and techniques to keep our visuals fresh, relevant and competitive.Collaborate with the Deputy Design Editor and Sr. Design Editors to develop innovative graphic concepts that align with the Post's bold brand identity.Work closely with editorial teams to integrate text and visuals seamlessly, enhancing storytelling whether digitally or in print.Generate fresh ideas for visual storytelling, with a strong focus on engaging digital content.Prioritize multiple projects efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.Requirements:Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and design tools such as Flourish and MapCreator.A digital-first approach with ability to create designs for web, mobile, and social platforms; familiarity with print techniques is also necessary.Exceptional sense of typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy.Ability to think creatively and strategically under tight deadlines.Passion for news, sports, viral content, pop culture, and emerging digital trends.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.A portfolio showcasing a range of design work, especially digital projects.Willingness to work on weekends and holidays as needed.Note: The New York Post adheres to a hybrid work model.
