Salary: $66,491.36 - $93,048.80 AnnuallyLocation : Minneapolis, MNJob Type: Full-timeRemote Employment: FlexibleHybridJob Number: 2025-00156Department: Intergovernmental RelationsOpening Date: 03062025Closing Date: 3192025 11:59 PM CentralFLSA: ExemptBargaining Unit: CPE Position Description Work closely with City Staff, Elected Officials, and the Community in developing, implementing, and monitoring the City's sustainability efforts, and other Intergovernmental Relations work as needed, including assisting the IGR team with regional, state and federal government relations.The City of Minneapolis does not sponsor applicants for work visas. Job Duties and Responsibilities Monitor issues affecting the City's Sustainability policy and program work at the local, regional, state and federal levels of government.Monitor activities of the Public Utilities Commission and assist in other IGR work as needed.Coordinate with the League of Minnesota Cities and other cities on sustainability policy initiatives. Support new policies and ordinances, as well as revisions to official City documents to ensure successful approval and implementation by the relevant decision-makers.Provide support in development and delivery of outreach, community events, educational programs and materials.Assist in coordinating energy policy and greenhouse gas inventories.Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project work teams on multi-disciplinary work projects including drafting the project scope, scheduling meetings, completing tasks, facilitating meetings, garnering consensus on recommendations, and preparing reportspresentations.Prepare and make presentations to groups, residents, and elected officials. Act as a liaison to create policies, promote sustainability and participate in community-wide sustainability projects.Identify potential funding sources and financial incentives for implementing projects.Support the collection and organization of information for reports, case studies, and other documentation related to the project or program assigned.Working Conditions: Office environment. Required Qualifications Minimum Education:Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Environmental Science, Physical Science, Natural Science, or Biological Science; Urban Planning or equivalent.Minimum Experience:Two to three years of professional experience in public policy, preferred experience in sustainability or energy policy.LicensesCertifications: NAResume and Cover Letter: You must attach an updated resume to your application.
