ANNOUNCING ARROW SECURITY-NYC IS OFFERING SECURITY CLASSES!Please See Our Schedule Posted Below, Online & In-Person Classes!Online Classes8 HR Pre-Assignment ClassThis is an 8-hour course required by New York State as the first step in obtaining a security guard registration card from the New York State Department. The course provides the student with a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Topics covered in this course include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, and ethics and conduct. Students must achieve a minimum passing score of 70% on the examination in order to successfully complete the course. Students MUST bring a Valid Government Photo ID to the training class.16 HR On the Job Training (2 day course)This is a 16-hour course that must be completed within 90 days of employment as a security guard. The course provides the student with detailed information on the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Topics covered in this course include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, ethics and conduct, incident command system, and terrorism. Students must achieve a minimum passing score of 70% on the examination in order to successfully complete the course. Students MUST bring a Valid Government Photo ID to the training class.8 HR Annual Training (For Licensed Officers Only)This is an 8-hour course that must be completed within 12 calendar months from completion of the 16-hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards and annually thereafter. The course is structured to provide the student with updated and enhanced information on the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Topics include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, and ethics and conduct. Students MUST bring a Valid Government Photo ID to the training Person ClassesADULT FIRSTAIDCPRAED COURSE The Adult First AIDCPRAED course equips student to recognize and care for various first-AID breathing and Cardiac Emergencies involving adult. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. The American Red Cross issues a valid to-year digital certificate for adult First-AIDCPRAED upon successful completion.What you should bring:Valid NYS-issued photo IDOne document showing proof of residencyright to work i.e., social security card, birth certificate, passport, permanent resident card, work authorization card or any other acceptable document per federal guidelines$50 CLASS FEE PER DAYDetails: The 8-hour pre-licensing course is mandatory for all unarmed and armed security guards seeking licensing in New York. (Exemptions may apply for retired law enforcement officers, please visit the NYS DCJS website for specific details. .The 8-hour pre-licensing course serves as the first step in the registration process to become a professional security guard. Students passing this class will receive a Certificate of Course Completion documenting their achievement.
