We are results-driven, creative solution finders and enjoy putting ourselves in our clients' shoes.The role:As a Senior VDC Manager with a specialty in plumbing, you'll have the opportunity to manage a team of VDC Engineers while you apply your technical and engineering skills across a multitude of projects. You will contribute to world-class thought leadership around BIM and VDC.This includes ensuring that plumbing projects for trade contractors incorporate BIM processes during construction. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and has a deep passion for developing and implementing innovative BIM processes across dispersed this role you will:Report to VIATechnik Directors and Studio Leads on VDCBIM services.Manage VDCBIM projects including 3D plumbing BIM creation, clash detection, clash resolution.Participate in interviewing, selecting, and reviewing employees within the department as needed.Implement BIM for plumbing focusing on construction and fabrication including the creation of coordination documents and spool drawings, enabling BIM to factory and BIM to field, automated layout, etc.Create detailed schedules, project plans, and budget projections to effectively manage projects to successful completion. Proactively identify and communicate gaps in planning to clients and stakeholders.Train team in understanding plumbing code requirements and ensure model matches plumbing code requirementsResponsible for on-time completion, overall budget, quality, and client satisfaction on projects.Serve as the primary interface to clients and cultivate client relationships. Present work to clients. Conduct andor actively participate in meetings with clients.Resource alignment, work planning, coordination, and management of a team of BIM specialists, other VIATechnik project team members, and third party vendors. Includes presenting project scope and instructions to the team, ensuring all questions are answered, team output is received on time, and that the team is producing high-quality work.Minimal travel to client sites and other VIATechnik company locations.Contribute to the VIATechnik culture of professional development and knowledge sharing by participating in and leading training efforts.As assigned, serve as the people manager for VIATechnik employees from entry to manager levels. Includes supporting career development, feedback, training, and project execution success for all direct reports.Apply if you have:A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a similar discipline.8+ years of experience providing implementation, training, and support in BIM and VDC.Managed a team or teams of detailers and VDC Engineers.8+ years of experience working for a plumbing trade contractor.Experience in combining and coordinating BIM updates, running clash detection on revised components and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders.Experience modeling, drafting, producing drawings, and reading mechanical and plumbing plans.Capability to work effectively in a self-directed way within an extremely fast-paced, ever-changing environment.The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.A proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an "all hands on deck" approach.Ability to work some earlylate hours to coordinate with project teams in other countries.Experience in leading online meetings and training sessions across remote project teams using platforms.Experience with software such as Revit andor Fabrication CADMEP.Even better if you have:Managed global teams.Field construction experience.Been involved in the administrative side of projects: invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting.Knowledge of other primary building systems: foundations, primary building structure and walls, electrical, fire protection, specialty systems, conveying systems and interior finishes and the sequence of assembly of each.Experience managing BIM and VDC across a project lifecycle.Understanding of real world constructability of modeled systems.A portfolio of work you can share.Proven track record of effectively working with and managing teams remotely.Background in providing professional services to pensation and featured benefits:The pay for this position is $115,000 - $129,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experienceHealth insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)Dental and vision insurance.
