Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Overview The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for ensuring all invoices are properly recorded, tracked, approved, and paid. This role involves close collaboration with various departments. Success will be demonstrated by accurate payments and financial transaction reporting. Responsibilities Process Accounts Payable invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors Manage the Accounts Payable inbox Assist with month-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable, including reconciliations Prepare and process electronic payments and checks for signature Ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to Accounts Payable Preserve confidentiality of information viewed during payables processing Identify opportunities for discounts Prepare 1099's prior to the mailing due date Maintain an e-file for Certificates of Insurance Make and track appropriate sales and use tax payments on invoices as needed Provide support for other Accounting and Finance functions as needed Other duties as assigned Requirements 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a corporate environment. Knowledge of accounting best practices Experience with financial transaction reporting Understanding of reporting requirements for payables Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred but not required Salary Expectations The salary range for this position is $45K-$65K annually - based on experience.
