Job Type TemporaryDescriptionSpend the summer with the Girl Scouts of Western Washington exploring misty Lake Langlois and our gorgeous 486-acres of rainforest at Camp River Ranch. This lakefront property, nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, is home to an exciting opportunity called Camp S'More. Campers of all ages experience a wide variety of camp activities based on their interest.The Guest Services Coordinator plays a vital role at camp by providing customer service to campers, guests, visitors, and camp staff before, during and after their time at camp. This position is the primary guest point of contact after a Camp S'More reservation is booked. Duties include but aren't limited to checking in individuals arriving at camp, checking out groups leaving camp, communicating camperguest needs and concerns to the reservation, program, and property teams, tracking attendance data, and overseeing the camp store. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends, with the majority of working hours being Friday through Sunday. This position will average 20-30 hours per week; however, some weeks may be up to 40 hours and others could be less than 20 depending on camp reservations. Overnight communal housing is available; however, staff are not required to stay on camp. Meals will not be provided, however space to cook and store food is available.The full pay range for this position is $21.76 - $22.50 per hour, with the starting rate dependent on previous employment at GSWW camps. RequirementsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for ensuring check-in and check-out procedures with guestscampers are followed, including cleaningAnswer information requests in a timely, professional manner along with relaying messages to camp program staff, property staff, site reservation team, and the GSWW camp management teamResponsible for overseeing all aspects of the camp store including set-up, tear-down, inventory management, processing sales, and coordinating with the Retail team as neededEnsure the safety of all campers during their stay by modeling all policies, procedures, and protocols Maintains a guest-friendly atmosphere Provide quality service and resolve concerns to all customers in a timely manner Participate in camp life by assisting with activities, campfire, staff training, meetings, and camp cleaning as neededCarry out established duties regarding camperguest health, safety, and program goalsExhibits good judgment and risk management assessment skillsAssume other duties and responsibilities as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProven good judgment in anticipating and preventing accidents, risk management, and effectiveness in emergenciesAbility to maintain confidential information Organized, detail-oriented, and takes initiative Desire and ability to answer phones, providing customer service to guestsStrong teamwork skills with the ability to train and supervise others Ability to drive a golf cart andor camp vehicle to respond quickly to guest needsAbility to prioritize tasks and work independently of close supervision Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities of camp staff members Education and Experience Required18+ High School DiplomaGED Desire and willingness to work outside in a variety of weather conditions. Valid Driver's license for at least 5 years, clean driving record, and ability to drive a 12-passenger vanCurrent CPR and First Aid or willingness to obtain (will be offered during staff training)Ability to receive instruction and supervision Preferred Skills and Experience21+ years oldPrevious experience working in a Girl Scout andor camp settingsExperience with guest services andor hospitality industryPrevious experience answering phones and using a copy machine Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite Work EnvironmentSummer camp is a fast-paced outdoor working environment with long hours. Employees are frequently exposed to loud noises, sensory stimulating situations, and physically demanding activities. Employees should feel comfortable with: Working outside in all weather conditions including heat, inclement weather, and specific environmental realities (humidity, wind, bugs, lake water) Working long hours outdoors with irregular schedules including early mornings, weekends, and eveningsDemonstrate emotional resiliency and regulation to handle extended, repeated stressful situations appropriately Walking over unpaved, uneven, hilly terrain multiple times a day Must be physically able to perform necessary duties as assigned for the safety of all campers and guestsResponding to emergencies including utilizing skills to administer First AidCPR when necessary Maintaining constant supervision and observation of program participants while assessing risk and participant safety If choosing to reside on camp, living conditions will be in a communal setting with limited privacySalary Description $21.76 - $22.50 per hour
