More information about Dashiell can be found at Title: CAD Technician IJob Location: 1301 Solana Blvd Bldg 2 STE 2500, Westlake, TX 76262Primary Function:Perform drafting duties using basic drafting skills and techniques for mediumhigh voltage substation or transmission line drawings. Assignments are closely supervised and are designed to develop the employee's understanding of drafting techniques, corporateclient standards, and procedures. CAD Technician's will either be dedicated to Electrical, Transmission, or CivilStructural design projects.Duties & ResponsibilitiesEmployee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:Revise CADD drawings per engineering markupsPerform engineering support tasks under direct supervision (e.g. transmittals)Learn and apply the corporateclient standard of drafting and engineering practicesLearn and properly use document management systemsTake personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of hisher workBring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible partyTravel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignmentsPerform other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications ExperienceAssociate degree in drafting & design is required. A certificate in CAD drafting & design with relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an associate degree.Possess skills in the following areas:Experience with AutoCAD 2010 and newer is required.Experience with Microstation preferred but not required3D CADD experience preferred but not requiredBasic drafting including drawing scales, drawing layouts (PaperspaceModelspace), and accurately reproducing engineering markupsCADD, word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail softwareCollege level geometryAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with co-workersPhysical Requirements:This position requires minimal physical effort.Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a dayWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to year around weather conditions and noise.Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings andor meetings as required (10%)Working extended hours, including weekends, may be required periodically.May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions as defined per Company policy.Equal Employment OpportunityDashiell is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
