Job TitleCompliance Manager, Multifamily (affordable, LIHTC, Section 8, bilingual)(Description SummaryThe Multifamily Affordable Compliance Manager is responsible for auditing our residential affordable properties to ensure LIHTC and Section 8 subsidized housing compliance with multiple agencies in NYC. Onsite, Brooklyn and Queens properties (3), total 600-700 multifamily units.Leasing, Recertifications, Audits. Bilingual EnglishSpanish required. Regular schedule MON-FRI. $90,000 salary + benefits eligible.Job DescriptionESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Collects all documentation needed for LIHTC and Section 8 approval processesActs as point of contact for all affordable associates and external agenciesMaintain 98% occupancy expectationEnsures NYC properties understand affordable LIHTC and Section 8, Vouchers, and other affordable programsProvides guidance to on-site associates as it relates to multifamily compliance and policiesComplies with all Company National Standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal lawsPerforms other tasks as directed by any person authorized to give such instructions or assignmentsMaintain a professional appearance and comply with company dress code. This position will be interfacing with operations, clients, and the client's customers.Exhibit good leadership abilities with the highest degree of integrity. Partner with agency auditorsComprehension of federal fair housing laws and any applicable local housing provisions and the ability to multi-taskAbility to use a computer and advanced working knowledge of Yardi, internet navigation, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to make quick and effective decisions and be able to analyze and resolve problems; investigate changes and discrepanciesAbility to set and meet goals; consistently meet deadlines and maintain confidentialityAbility to compare, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, instruct, and communicate various information.IMPORTANT EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree preferredAffordable LIHTC Certification requiredIMPORTANT EXPERIENCE 5+ years of affordable residential multifamily Property Management experience1+ years of multifamily affordable compliance experience: LIHTC, Section 8 requiredYardi, Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook, PDF's requiredBilingual fluent English and Spanish requiredWORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Regularly required to travel outside between properties in varying weather conditions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to stand and walk for extended or continuous periods of time. They must be able to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, andor step stools and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions. The employee may also be regularly required to remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for 85% of the time; regularly operate office machinery.
