You will provide a high level of compassion as you interact with our clients and support our surgery teams in whatever is needed, from scribing during visits to assisting with procedures. This is a full time (40 hrsweek) position with a rotating schedule of four 10hr shifts per week.What You'll Do:Scribe for our Veterinarians during visitsSupport medical team members with surgeries, x-rays, treatments, and other proceduresCompassionately handle and restrain pets for examsRecord and report on patient symptomsClean, restock and maintain clinic common areas and exam roomsClearly communicate pricing estimates and treatment plans, serving as a guide through the client's visit experienceAssist with client interactions, walk-ins, calls, scheduling, and client education as neededPerform other duties as assigned by your team leadersAssist with maintaining stock and ordering suppliesEnsure the availability and sterility of instrumentation.Perform effective and efficient decontamination, cleaning, inspection, pack preparation, and sterilization of all surgical instruments, anesthesia hoses, endotracheal tubes, and supplies.Effectively coordinate Surgery Service appointment schedule with anticipation of change.You Have:1+ year of experience working as a veterinary assistant or kennel assistantMust have animal handling experience Able to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 50 poundsExperience in surgical instrument handling and care preferred.Knowledge of varying sterilization techniques and autoclave operation preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to multitask with accuracy and efficiency A high proficiency for typing and utilizing multiple computer systems and capturing recommendations made during the course of a visitA passion for pets!
