Our video production and global transmission services are trusted every day by corporate enterprises and leading sports, news and entertainment organizations who rely on The Switch to turn-on their live content, anywhere in the world.The Switch is seeking a candidate who will contribute to the growth and success of our network operations center. This position will be required to provide a consistent high level of service on assigned shifts. Primary NOC Operator Responsibilities Monitor and maintain all aspects of The Switch's DTM network to ensure 99.999 success. Proactive customer interfacing for video and data transmission services. Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve video and data services both on and off network. Diagnose customer and network-wide circuit issues to ensure the highest quality of service. Open, track and resolve trouble tickets with telco and equipment vendors. Follow established troubleshooting and reporting procedures and protocol. Create detailed documentation of customer issues and appropriately escalate to management if necessary. Perform and uphold timely record keeping and information processing. Provide resource and vendor scheduling when required. Ensure network-wide services are performed according to standardized operating proc edures. Assist customers in changing andor adding remote equipment configurations . Provide monitoring support and multiple service checks to provide the highest quality of customer service. Maintain an elevated and efficient level of courteous verbal and written communication skills. Perform various projects, assignments, and duties requested by supervisors. Required Skills Bachelor's Degree related to television, broadcasting, video, computer applications or equivalent technical trainingexperience is necessary . Must be self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and a team player. Must possess strong problem -solving skills and multitasking abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication expertise, and a natural ability to liaise with customers and all management levels is needed. Comprehension of video transmission and IP signal routing is necessary. Outstanding attention to detail and ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, ever- changing and challenging environment is necessary. Command of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is necessary. A working knowledge of media LAN and WAN networking technologies, topography, and troubleshooting techniques used in broadcasting is highly desirable. An understanding of the basic functions and features of the media supply chain, such as ingest and playout features in professional media environments, is highly desirable. Knowledge of a variety of data communications standards including Ethernet (101001000 BaseT), Serial (RS232CRS422RS485), SDI (SDHD), ASI is highly desirable. General software application knowledge and networking skills are highly desirable. Experience with VideoTek, DekTec, Evertz, GVG, Miranda, Snell, MediakindEricsson, Adtec, Ateme and other professional media and broadcast equipment is preferred. Understanding of broadcast television and streaming technologies is preferred. Ability to read and understand technical documentation including schematics, single-line functional drawings, block diagrams, system drawings, and wire lists is preferred. Knowledge of ScheduAll and NetInsight software is preferred. Prior broadcast TOCNOC or equivalent computer video experience is preferred. Familiarity with Net Insight MSR transport platform and IPMPLS networks a plus. In-depth knowledge of MPEG compression and satellite communications is a plus. Demonstrable knowledge of test and monitoring equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, waveform monitors, vectorscopes, transport stream analyzers, spectrum analyzers, audio level meters and monitors, network diagnostic systems) is a plus.Base Salary Range: $65,455-$86,036. The salary may be adjusted within this range based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and the specific needs of the position.Benefits Summary: We offer Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage, as well as a 401k plan, and paid leave under our policies.Other Compensation: The position is eligible for a discretionary bonus.
