Our goal is to have a positive and long-lasting impact on the lives of the people and communities we serve with the hope of providing the care, support, and attention they need.So, it is our pleasure to announce that we are currently seeking a full-time candidate for the role of House Manager (HM), to join our team! - Veterans preferred for specific VA Shelter locations.By ICL definition, under the direct supervision of the Operations Dir., a House Mgr. or Client Care Mgr. is someone primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of assigned counselors, residence social services staff, support and security staff, and others, while overseeing activities of the residents and monitoring physical plant conditions that impact the safety and security of residents, staff and facility assets.MIN. ROLE REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCES:LOCATION: Long Island City, NY 11101 + Available 5 Days min. Monday to Sunday, with options for O.T. - Shift: Days & Hours TBDEDUEXP: degree options below MUST be majored andor concentrating (min. 24 credits) in the following management andor human service fields... business administration or management, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, recreationrecreation therapy, counseling, sociology, community mental health, child and family studies, speech and hearing - OR - a practicum encompassing a substantial number of activities with the target population, alongside coinciding experience - preferably in a shelter settingBA Degree and 1+ years of supervisory andor relevant human services exp.AA Degree and 3+ years of supervisory andor relevant human services exp.GEDHSE or HS Diploma and 5+ years of supervisory andor relevant human services exp.LICENSING: Valid State Driver's ID (CDL, General Class D or Class A, B, or C licensing accepted) - NY, NJ, CT or PA preferredProper attire always - this includes work pants, boots, and outerinner-wear with the ICL company logo (provided after training)ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and stretch for long periods of timeAbility to effectively use computer software such as MS Word and OutlookAbility to consistently report for work as scheduled, being on-call if neededAbility to perform medium to heavy manual labor, including lifting objects weighing up to 25+ lbsAbility to work in a setting with diverse individuals with mental illness andor behavioral disordersStrong problem-identification and solving skills with an awareness of self and one's impact on othersAbility to work both independently and as a team, to conform to all applicable safety and accountability measuresStrong communication, listening, interpersonal, writing, and conveying skills - bi-lingual is a plus but not mandatoryAbility to manage resources, multiple projects, delegate tasks, and ensure completion of all tasks assigned and delegatedAbility to continually learn and apply knowledge with a willingness to participate in in-service training and development activitiesAbility to develop, evaluate, implement, and modify a case management plan, meeting all deadlines and productivity standardsAbility to learn, understand, and comply with all internal & external state & city regulations, policies, and procedures regarding house mgmt.Ability to follow all safety guidelines in accordance with the performance of the tasks mentioned below...HOUSE MANAGER TASKS:Clinical Support - assist in providing clinical services; serve as the liaison between clients and clinical staff; meet with clinical staff to get up-to-date info on clients; escort new intakes to the clinic for risk assessment interviews within the established time frameHousing Support - work collaboratively with onsite security; coordinate and conduct fire drills as scheduled; ensure the program is following all state and federal regulations and all ICL policies and procedures; participate in all activities to improve the quality of services providedResident Support - assist in the admission and orientation of new residents; conduct intake interviews; educate clients on facility rules and regulations; maintain accurate head count; monitor the census and placement of clients to assure compliance with DHS rules and regulations; ensure appropriate crisis intervention as needed; serve as a role model to residents; be aware of other's reactions and understanding why they react the way they do; help residents to be compassionate and hopefulAdmin Support - promptly, maintain a logbook documenting all activities in the shelter on the assigned shift and noting any variance to the normal day-to-day operations; email copies of shift and daily activity reports to mgmt. after each tour; develop precise and detailed incident reports to be provided to mgmt.; responsible for ensuring accuracy of and completion of required documentation; with the Operations Dir.'s approval, establish and maintain work schedules in accordance with ICL policies and proceduresStaff Support - direct and supervise staff; assign and coordinate staff activities and integrate as part of a multidisciplinary team; ensure staff operate according to all government regulations and ICL policies and procedures; provide oversight for assigned staff shifts; conduct staff supervision in accordance with division expectations and ICL procedures; ensure staff receive relevant information regarding program operations; ensure assigned staff's compliance with agency time and attendance policy; regularly review and monitor staff activities, making recommendations to Ops. DirectorSupervisory Support - provide quality mgmt. oversight; provide direct care coverage as needed; assist in the recruitment, selection, training and orientation of new employees; manage and oversee all aspects of the facility in the absence of the Program Dir., Assistant Dir., Dir. of Operations andor Social Services Dir.; with the Operations Dir.'s approval, conducts disciplinary action as needed, ensuring that Plans of Corrective Action are implemented and adhered to; work with residents, families, and staff in a caring and respectful manner, and with due understanding of and consideration for cultural differencesPerform other job-related tasks as assigned in an organized and detail-oriented manner...Please Note: this position description is a guide to the critical duties and essential functions of the job, not an all-inclusive list of responsibilities, qualifications, physical demands, and work environment conditions.
