Position Summary:Reporting to the Director of Development Planning and Analysis, the Manager, Development Operations is responsible for database management, database training, and reporting and analytics. The Manager acts as a subject matter expert for Salesforce and EveryAction, designing the training system for onboarding to theplatforms in the department. providing continuous improvement touchpoints for beginning to advanced users and advising the team on best practices in data integrity and analytics. The Manager will serve as the point person for multiple cross-department projects and operations. They work closely with DevelopmentLeadership to support cohesive database usage, manage data quality, and maintain accuracy, and to provide data and analytics to help drive fundraising strategy. This position will report to the Chief Strategy Integration Officer on an interim pensation:$112,065 - $126,073 yearAdditional Job DescriptionEssential FunctionsDatabase Management:Partner with Development, IT, and Finance Operations to manage Salesforce, Audubon's donor database, providing cohesive, accurate and timely picture of donor information.Partner with Development Communications staff on EveryAction. Manage and advise on the system for donor e-blastscommunications, overseeing the annual report donor lists, ensuring all board circles are kept up to date.Maintain Audubon's Development Business Practices, provide up to date, accurate, and user-friendly supporting documentation for all Development systems.Collaborate and consult with IT on system enhancements, bringing the Development team's perspective to devise and implement new processes to promote data hygiene and elevate user experience and efficiency.Database Training:Act as Audubon Development's front-facing Salesforce ambassador.Design and provide training and coaching on Salesforce for the Development team and other users throughout the organization. Create and manage new engagement touchpoints to upskill staff on Salesforce functionality and Audubon-specific Salesforce practices.Create and share documentation for the system's best practices.Provide and execute regular maintenance for donor data hygiene.Identify and execute system-wide improvement opportunities.Train other Development staff on EveryAction as needed.Reporting, Analytics, and Data Visualization:Generate reporting and analytics for the Development network.Design and generate reports and analysis for Development staff and senior leadership across the organization, including delivery of regular and accurate gift and fundraising metrics reports. This includes, but is not limited to, generating analytics on current and historical Major Gifts data, assisting with projection reports, and providing support for the individual front line fundraisers as needed.Establish a system of dashboard and data visualizations to make information more digestible and actionable for staff and leadership, identifying new opportunities and expanding on current offerings.Work with Director of Development Planning and Analysis and development department leadership on analyzing operational targets, providing data to guide strategy, and co-design the analytical framework for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding Audubon's top donors and prospects. Lead and participate in meetings as requested by stakeholders.Assist with Audubon staff to ensure that equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging principles are incorporated and followed in all aspects of our work.Other job-related duties as assigned.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of 7 years working directly with donor data andor information services at large, complex fundraising organizations. Must have comprehensive knowledge of current Development methodologies. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will also be considered.Required proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Certified Salesforce Administrators preferred; Salesforce experience is required. Experience with EveryAction is preferred.Demonstrated expertise as a trainer or customer service representative; ability to translate database lingo into fundraising friendly communications. The ability to disseminate complex information and business rules to a wide audience with varying skill sets is a must.Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to effectively analyze, interpret, evaluate, and communicate simple and complex technical information to a non-technical audience.Must have the ability to creatively problem solve, think strategically and to anticipate the impacts of decision-making across multiple departments.
