Director of Fabrication

Job DescriptionAs the Director of Fabrication, you will lead our NYC fabrication team, spearheading projects across film, TV, experiential marketing, and retail installations. Reporting to the Vice President, you'll manage seven department leads, each specializing in a unique discipline. Your leadership will ensure operational excellence, delivering projects of the highest quality and efficiency.Key Responsibilities1. Oversee Fabrication Processes•Manage all stages of fabrication, from planning to final installation.•Develop schedules, allocate resources, and ensure projects stay within budget.2. Maintain and Refine Standards•Establish best practices for fabrication techniques, integrating team feedback and industry trends.3. Build and Optimize Systems•Implement and enhance project management tools to improve communication and streamline operations.4. Manage Project Distribution•Work with executives and department leads to strategically assign projects across teams.5. Client Liaison•Serve as the primary point of contact for client updates and address any concerns related to fabrication progress.6. Collaborate with Designers•Partner closely with the design team to align fabrication processes with creative concepts and specifications.7. Drive Productivity•Monitor and evaluate departmental performance, ensuring teams meet deadlines and deliver consistently high-quality results.•Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency.8. Recruit and Develop Talent•Lead recruitment, interviews, and onboarding for new hires.•Conduct performance reviews and collaborate with department managers to set and achieve team goals.RequirementsRequired Qualifications and Skills•Experience: 10+ years of leadership in professional fabrication or construction, with a proven track record of success.•Leadership: Strong team management and motivational skills.•Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of fabrication processes and techniques.•Project Management: Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.•Communication: Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to engage with teams, clients, and stakeholders effectively.
