OverviewProvides direct leadership and guidance to staff to ensure high level of cleanliness, quality and service is achieved and maintained. Ensure all areas are in complinace with Joint Commission, DOH and DEP regulations. ResponsibilitiesMonitor Service Now requests in assigned areas on a daily basis taking appropriate action to departmenta concernscomments. Follow- up with department to ensure that the request was properly addressed.Track service now requests for trendsRound daily on all areas of responsibility to ensure quality of cleanliness. During rounds identify areas of improvement. Review areas of improvement with the housekeeper assigned to the area and complete retraining when necessary.Review the results of the Press Ganey surveys monthly with the staff. Identify opportunities to improve the overall scores.Meet with Newly Admitted Patients to set expectations for the housekeeping service.Respond to concerns and requests with a sense of urgency and take necessary corrective action when needed. Attends on going staff development and training courses as offered by the Hospital to develop better leadership skills and get promoted.Report any Safety or Security concerns to the appropriate departments. Coaching and encourage employees, nurture creativity and innovation. Assist in development and deliver performance reviews, discipline action and enforce policies and procedures.Assign and schedule employees to work areas.Ensure staff have the appropriate supplies to complete their job.Participates in staff selection process, ensures receive proper orientation, initial and on-going training.Plan and coordinate work, ensure duty lists are revised and current at all times.Ensure that proper supply control guidelines are followed and staff is trained in the use of all chemicals. Ensures housekeeping office, storage and closets are clean, organized, well maintained and professional in appearance at all times.All other duties as requested. QualificationsEducation:High School Diploma, GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience:Minimum of two (2) years of experience managing Environmental Services, required (in a healthcare setting highly preferred).Knowledge and Skills:Ability to communicate effectively in written formal and oral presentations from hourly staff to CEO level.Ability to multi-task and establish priorities. Must possess excellent customer service skills.Ability to maintain organization and control in an ever-changing environment.Must exhibit initiative, accountability, flexible and good leadership skills.Must possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures.Must understand and conceptualize working knowledge of EVS to meet established goals and objectives.Must be proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook.Basic ability to fully utilize OBH's electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance.#OBH123 The salary range andor hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and can be modified in the future.
