Manager, Asset DevelopmentLocation: NYCThe Manager, Asset Development will support wind, solar, and energy storage development activities within our TerraForm platform company, with a focus on overall development project management and major permits and authorizations. Working as a key member of the asset development team, the successful candidate will have a wide range of responsibilities including engineering and design, equipment selection, due diligence, interconnection, and permitting of projects as they advance from inception to construction.The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for management of development projects with a focus on major permits and authorizations within the Platform company portfolio.Responsibilities:Lead and support management of multiple renewable energy development projects, coordinating with internal and external leads across all project development pillars, with a focus on managing major permits and authorizationsManage external consultants as project manager overseeing key development workstreams and permitting processes as they pertain to land use, environmental, and other, coordinating with in-house subject matter expertsSupport opportunity assessment and due diligence for prospective project development opportunitiesDrive progress toward key project milestones in coordination with other internal functions such as commercial, financial, legal, engineering, construction, and operationsParticipate in preparing and presenting business cases for projects that are selected for investment and support project financingMake recommendations regarding sequencing of development activities across major stage gates, and consistently track risks and mitigantsOwn overall schedule budgets for assigned development projectsRequirements Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant energy industry experience gained in roles such as project development and M&A, environmental and permitting, project design engineering, advisory, or other relevant positions with a focus on large-scale renewables (preferred) or other large infrastructure projectsStrong commercial, analytical, organizational, project management and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple and evolving prioritiesDemonstrate a strong alignment with corporate values, including health, safety and environmentAbility to travel as needed within the USQualifications:Bachelor's degree, Masters preferred, in relevant disciplinesDirect experience securing major permits and authorizations for renewable energy or similar infrastructure projects is a plusExperience in MS Office including MS ProjectSalary Range: $150,000 - $175,000
