DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:The Director of Data and Compliance provides leadership and oversight to ensure the YMCA of Central Ohio maintains high standards in data integrity, compliance, and regulatory adherence across all program areas. This role is responsible for developing and managing data systems, ensuring compliance with grant and funding requirements, and implementing quality improvement processes. The Director collaborates with senior leadership, program teams, and external stakeholders to enhance data-driven decision-making and maintain compliance with accrediting bodies, government agencies, and funders. Additionally, this position oversees a team responsible for preparing and submitting invoices to grant funders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned: Ensures compliance with all grant requirements, funding agreements, and regulatory bodies.Develops and maintains policies and systems to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with funder and legal requirements.Leads alongside with the finance and program teams to track, report, and ensure compliance with all grant funding requirements. Oversees grant-related spending to maintain alignment with approved budgets.Supports the development and monitoring of financial allocations for compliance-related initiatives. Works with accounting and grants administration to track expenses and ensure proper documentation.Oversees a team responsible for preparing and submitting invoices to grant funders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all financial and reporting guidelines. Collaborates with finance and accounting to reconcile payments and expenditures.Oversees the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reports. Coordinates internal audits and funder reviews, ensuring all documentation and reporting requirements are met.Leads the creation and regular review of agency compliance policies, including the Agency Operation Procedure Manual. Ensures staff training on compliance policies and documentation requirements.Provides guidance and training to staff on data management, compliance policies, and reporting requirements. Supports executive and program leaders in understanding compliance expectations.Develops data dashboards and reporting tools to provide insights on key metrics. Works with leadership to translate data into strategic decision-making.Serves as a resource to program directors and leadership teams to align compliance efforts with strategic goals and operational needs.Represents the YMCA in compliance-related meetings with funders, auditors, and regulatory bodies. Serves as a liaison to external partners to ensure adherence to best practices.Implements and leads data-driven quality improvement initiatives to enhance program effectiveness and ensure compliance with best practices.Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth. Participates in required abuse risk management training. Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and viewpoints from all social and economic segments of the organization and community. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technologyRequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, data management, compliance, or a related field.YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification; if not certified, must obtain certification within 12 monthsPassionate belief in the Y's cause of nurturing the potential of all youth, supporting healthy living for all people and finding ways to help and support our neighbors.Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to solving challenging situations. Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, grants management, or data governance in a nonprofit or public sector setting.Experience leading a team responsible for financial reporting, invoicing, and compliance documentation.Strong understanding of federal and state funding compliance, data reporting, and financial management.Experience with data analytics and reporting systems.Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
