As a Senior Professional Civil Engineer (15 - 20 Years of Experience), you'll lead impactful projects that enhance community connectivity and safety. You will lead design and project coordination throughout the full cycle of a variety of roadway and municipal projects from feasibility studies, initial design, final design to supervising construction of design. Projects include roadway design, traffic analysis, pavement management, utilities coordination, and transportation planning for both urban and rural roadways.We take a "Seller-Doer" approach to business development. You will collaborate with the Roadway & Utilities Group Manager and the Vice President of Surface Transportation Engineering to further advance our services and enhance our reputation by contributing to the development of marketing plans, cultivating maintaining relations with clients and agency representatives, tracking prospective opportunities, developing proposals, and delivering client presentations. TKDA HQ 2025ResponsibilitiesLead the design and management of civil engineering projects within the transportation, municipal, and government sectorsDevelop project plans, specifications, and cost estimatesWork alongside Civil, Water Resources, Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural professionals to deliver multi-discipline projectsProvide technical guidance and oversight on projects involving streetsroadways, sidewalks, cycling infrastructure, utility infrastructure, stormwater management, and public parksApply effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills when developing proposals, negotiating project contracts, preparing technical reports, leading project team meetings, and delivering client presentationsEnsure designs are efficient, sustainable, and meet community needsMentor and develop less experienced team members by sharing knowledge and professional experiencesFoster a collaborative and supportive team environmentOversee all technical, quality, financial, and safety aspects of projects from conception through constructionMaintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholdersCommunicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectivelyEnsure all projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practicesStay updated on industry trends and regulatory changesParticipate in professional development activities to stay current with industry advancementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer in the State of MinnesotaMinimum of 15- 20 years of technical design experience with municipal andor transportation projects including roadway design, vehicular andor pedestrian access, site grading, pollution control, and stormwater managementMinimum of 5 years of experience managing multi-disciplined projects; strong working knowledge of the project development process including coordination with other disciplines during design and constructionPrevious business development experience demonstrated by a track record of securing new project opportunitiesDemonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop less experienced professionals with an emphasis on technical design standards, quality control, andor project management practicesExperience with Quality AssuranceQuality Control (QAQC) reviews for civil projectsExperience working with regulatory agencies, and knowledge of the permit application process with FEMA, DOT, DNR, and state local government entitiesExperience and understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D used to develop concept plans, grading plans, and site designsFlexibility for limited overnight travel to conduct on-site consultations, participate in project meetings, or attend business development and industry eventsMust possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving recordPreferred QualificationsProfessional registration in additional states with a preference of Wisconsin, South Dakota, and IowaPrior management and design experience for private utilities industrial developersPrior management and design experience for renewable energy (solar andor wind) infrastructure>$119,710 - $153,385 a yearThe listed salary range reflects base pay for candidates with 15-20 years of related experience.
