This position is hybrid and has work from home flexibility.Position Summary:Do you enjoy working with math concepts and interpreting financial and statistical data? This role is perfect for the individual who has some experience in project management and is looking to take their experience to the next level, fine tuning their analytical skills and contributing to the Practice Management team.The Rates and Account Analyst is part of the Client Value Team and works closely with Intake, Client Account Services, Finance, and Marketing teams to manage rate exceptions and pricing arrangements, assess discounts and AFAs requested during the intake process, improve clientmatter coding hygiene, assist with clientmatter opening and closing, analyze fee erosion causes and effects, streamline legal operations functions, and support collections efforts. This position requires continuous learning through legal industry organizationsociety membership and keeping pace with developments related to ratefee structures, revenue assurance, coding, legal operations, matter management, technology, and data analysis.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsures the integrity of clientmatter setup components such as agreed rates and alternative billing arrangements, as well as matter type, taskphase, industry and all other coding structures. This responsibility includes reviewing all ratefee requests routed to the Client Value team during the Intake process, as well as any necessary review of ratesterms in engagement letters, billing guidelines and OCGs. Monitors and recommends modifications to existing rate exceptions, including rate-alignment reviews; identify and correct coding inaccuracies on existing clientsmatters; and analyze ongoing timekeeper activity with an eye toward OCG compliance and best practices. Includes performing AFA and discountvolume discount analyses and recommending fee adjustments to improve financial performance. Conducts post-matter fee analyses to determine performance to initial fee arrangement, work with relationship attorneys to learn from experiences and hone future fee arrangement effectiveness. Provides reportingsupport services in collaboration with LPM professionals, practice directors, billers, collections specialists, attorneys, and firm management in connection with rates, coding, collection timelines, and realization. Maintains a reference library of best practices, including successful structurestools utilized and productive approaches. Conducts andor assist with market research related to rates, competitorpeer firms, pricing structures, procurement, operations and similar trends in the legal industry. Gathers and analyzes data for proactive and responsive fee proposalsRFP responses. Runs ad hoc data pulls for attorneys and the firm's professional teams, including Marketing, Client Account Services, and HR. Spearheads proactive attorneyclient communications announcing the firm's annual rate increases. Coordinates with Client Account Services to enact ratefee adjustments during the annual rate increase window and year-round. Communicates with attorneys and professional staff in a concise, effective, and professional manner. Works on special projects, as requested. Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsThe Rates & Accounts Analyst must have a Bachelor's degree. Project Management experience is a plus. At least 1 year of experience in projectoperations management in the legal or professional services sector is highly preferred. A demonstrated skill in working effectively in cross-functional teams, meeting time-sensitive deadlines, and interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization is essential. This Analyst must have a broad analytical skills set, including the ability to work with mathematical concepts and interpret a variety of financial and statistical data. Strong technical skills, including a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, PPT, Excel and data visualization tools. Must have a demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and professional publications; prepare business correspondence, proposals and reports; distill data and analyses to simply and effectively present information to a range of stakeholders; and pose and respond to questions tofrom attorneys and professional staff.
