Job OverviewSummaryObjective The Hourly Technician diagnoses and performs repairs on all vehicle components with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealer and manufacturerfactory standards.Essential FunctionsFull automotive troubleshooting and testingMaintains a clean, efficient work area and assists in keeping the shop neat and organizedEnsures that customer vehicles are repaired accurately and kept cleanRoad test vehicles to ensure qualify repair the first timeDiagnoses malfunctions and perform the necessary repairs for themAbility to perform any additional related duties as required and assigned by Service Manager or Shop ForemanExamines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommendedCommunicates with Service Advisor andor Dispatcher if additional work is neededAids Service Writer as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, interact with the customer, or in any other way to guarantee customer satisfactionDocuments all work performed and recommended on the repair orderUnderstands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherences to timekeeping standards. Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment. One to two years of related experience andor training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Education and Experience Previous Automotive Technician experience or recent completion of automotive tech trade school preferredAdditional Eligibility Qualifications (CertificationLicensesRegistrations) Valid Driver's LicenseSafety Sensitive PositionThe essential functions of this position require a person to work with hazardous or flammable materials; ANDOR to complete tasks in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, including without limitation the operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring of heavy equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles.
