This will include diagnosing, parts ordering, technical report writing, maintaining care of company assets, and proper communication with others. This individual must be able to perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible. Heavy Equipment Field Service TechnicianMechanic Essential FunctionsCommunicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One GoalPerforms field repairs and maintenance with little or no direct supervisionDiagnoses and evaluates problems with equipment and make repairs using established guidelines in accordance with established flat ratesPlans methods and sequence of performing assigned repairsModels safe work habits and abides by all safety policies and procedures at all timesKeeps rework within established guidelinesMakes overnight stays on or near job sites when requiredCompletes required paperwork efficiently and timelyAttends factory and other training as specified by supervisorMaintains service truck in good working condition and keeps it cleanExhibits professional demeanor at all times with customers, managers and colleaguesPromotes goodwill with customers and exhibit excellent customer relations behaviorsPerforms other job-related duties as assignedHeavy Equipment Field Service TechnicianMechanic Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or EquivalentAbility to speak, read and write in EnglishTwo (2) years continuous experience in diagnosing and repairing construction equipmentAbility to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematicsBasic computer knowledgeFurnish and maintain a set of hand tools and any special tools required by companyAbility to work overtime, stay overnight, and work on the weekend when neededPossess and maintain a valid driver's license; CDL if requiredHeavy Equipment Field Service TechnicianMechanic Physical Requirements:PushesPullsLiftsCarries up to 100 pounds without assistancePhysical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overheadAbility to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumesodors Physical ability to perform maintenance on equipment for extended hours with continual mounting and dismounting throughout the workdayAbility to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional conditionThis is considered a Safety-Sensitive position.We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discriminationharassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
