Responsible for ensuring, within all regulatory agency requirements, that the buildings, equipment and grounds (where applicable) are maintained in a safe and aesthetically pleasing condition in order to provide an appropriate environment for the well being of all our customers. To proactively support the efforts that ensures delivery of safe patient care and services and to promote a safe environment at Children's.ExperienceMust have 3-5 years of trade work related experience in one or more of the trades found in the hospital including, but not limited to, electricity, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, or locksmith3 years' experience in the installation and repair of heating ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment preferredPreferred QualificationsNAEducationHigh school diploma or equivalentCertification SummaryMust have license or specialty training in HVAC and RefrigerationValid Goergia driver's license and insurable driving recordKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesRequires detailed knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC systems and operations, being excellent in refrigeration piping and brazing skillsMust be able to read and follow prints related to installation workMust be knowledgeable of systems and equipment found in the healthcare facility and all codes governing the inspections testing and operation of the equipmentPossess good communication and interpersonal skillsMust be able to work without direct supervisionAbility to drive and operate Children's vehiclesJob ResponsibilitiesResponsible for operating and driving Children's vehicles throughout the organization as needed and to specified vendors or sites based on operational needs.Performs planned and general maintenance functions on refrigeration systems, special refrigeration systems and HVAC equipment including inspecting, testing, maintaining, installing, and repairing of mechanical and electrical components including motors, motor starters, switches, solenoids, pumps, refrigeration valves, and compressors.Maintains accurate, legible recordslogs of all workrounds made in mechanical rooms and has a thorough knowledge of the major building systems operations and refrigeration locations, ensuring freezing and cooling systems are running at optimal levels.Must demonstrate working knowledge of the Isensix system, monitoring the Isensix systems, and ensuring that Isensix documentation is completed accurately and timely.Must be able to plan for ahead for minimal down time of refrigeration systems.Ability to respond to unplanned breakdowns with a sense of urgency and demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting techniques.Uses hand, diagnostic and power tools relating to the physical plant equipment, and keeps tools, equipment, and mechanical rooms in safe, clean organized working condition.Maintains HVAC and refrigeration inventory by notifying the Engineering Supervisor in purchasing parts, supplies and materials necessary for proper maintenance of the systems and equipment, in accordance with departmental procedures and observes proper on-site handling.Meets all in-service requirements, complies with all System policies and procedures and understands and complies with infection control, safety, and OSHA standards.Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and employees without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, citizenship, age, veteran status, disability or any other characteristic covered by applicable law.Primary Location Address2220 North Druid Hills RoadJob FamilyEngineeringFacility Mgmt
