The Staff Accountant performs cash management, along with other accounting duties. This role provides prompt, accurate, courteous, "best in class" service to the Profit Center, our partners, the leadership team and all staff.Essential Duties and Functions:Reviewing cash management for proper deposits and balancesIdentify processing expectations that inhibit application efficiencies and recommend solutionsManage money moves and ACH transactionsPOC for cash movement questionsissues in the various bank accountsDaily DepositsPerform batching of refund and commission paymentMaintain and reconcile accounts with Excel knowledge.Refund and Stale Date AdministrationOversee multiple lockboxes with collaboration of the cash application teamAssisting the Accounting Leader and Senior Accountant with Month-End ClosePrepares in-depth financial analyses and research to support, and facilitate timely management decisions andor financial reports or statementsDevelops and maintains documented accounting systems and desktop procedures for fiscal functions and assist in the development of company internal control policies and proceduresCompletes ad hoc reporting as requested from Finance and other internal departments.Adaptable to learn team processesEmbraces a culture of continuous improvement, developing strategies to maximize efficiencies and unlock capacityCompetencies:Demonstrated knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Financial reporting (e.g. financial statement preparation, review and analysis)Self-motivated with excellent critical, analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to handle multiple, simultaneous tasksStrong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsCandidate must be self-directed and highly motivatedAbility to see "big picture" and small steps needed to achieve goalsConsistent, reliable, attention to detailKeys to Success:Positive can-do attitude, self-motivated with the intellectual curiosity to get it right the 1st time, and a strong work ethic.Required Bachelor of Accountancy1+ years' experience in corporate accounting and finance or similar positionProficient with MS Office Suite and at minimum an intermediate level user of ExcelAbility to maintain a high level of confidentialityPersonal flexibility around the monthly close cycle to execute on tight deadlinesWhat we offer:Excellent growth and advancement opportunitiesCompetitive pay + time offGenerous benefits package: health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.Education assistance: tuition reimbursement assistance, student loan repayment assistance, scholarships for dependents of teammatesEmployee Stock Purchase PlanPay Ranges:Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including skills, experience, work location and more.
