ResponsibilitiesBrasfield & Gorrie has exciting opportunities in Orlando and Jacksonville for upcoming graduates interested in full-time employment in the construction industry as an Assistant Project Manager. Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):Develop project business planWork with field management to generate job specific safety plan for the projectServe as the main point of contact for the Engineer and ArchitectWork with Pre-Construction and Field Supervision to identify and implement all contract deliverables, quality testing, and reporting requirementsCreate staging, logistics, and phasing plan for projectLead coordination of subcontractorsSet up bonding andor Subguard, change order log, and cost tracking for the projectSet up project in E1 and Prolog softwareResponsible for project startup, including obtaining permits and licenses and managing jobsite mobilizationFacilitate subcontractor pre-mobilizationstartup meetingsIssue and administer subcontracts (payments, insurance, bond, safety, haz-com, etc.) and purchase orders for multiple tradesAssist in development, planning, and updating of overall project schedule. Attenddirect regular job scheduling meetingsLead responsibility for project quality control plan implementation and complianceConduct bi-weekly safety surveys with project superintendentPrioritize, review, and expedite submittalsExpedite material deliveries according to project schedule requirementsUnderstand quantity updating and work with Superintendents to maintain accurate labor forecastsDevelop and administer subcontractor and purchase order change ordersReview projections, labor reports, safety documents, and schedules on a monthly basisReview and approve materialequipment invoices according to project budgetPrepare payment requests and monitor collectionsMeet with city and state agencies to review project and inspectionsAttend OAC progress meetings and create monthly status reportsEnter and update information in project management software (job status reports, projections, change orders, and RFI's)Manage and oversee job close-out documentation and procedures (closeout documents, final job report, and final accounting)Mentor and train co-opintern studentsEducation - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & ExperienceMust be an upcoming graduate of an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in construction, engineering, or related fieldConstruction internshipwork experience strongly preferred Must graduate with a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPAExperience managing aspects of construction projects including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electricalWorking knowledge of Prolog and other construction softwareBasic understanding of financial accounting systemsStrong oral communication and interpersonal skillsTechnical writing skillsConflict resolution skillsSuperior organizational skillsAbility to multitaskWillingness to travel andor relocate, as both may be requiredThe above description covers the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.
