CoStaff is looking for an experienced detail-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist to join our company. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) with a strong background in multi-state payroll processing, compliance, and client service. This role requires advanced knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and benefits administration to ensure accurate and efficient payroll operations for our diverse client base. Key Responsibilities: Process and oversee multi-state payrolls for multiple client companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding payroll-related inquiries, troubleshooting complex payroll issues, and providing solutions. Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and payroll best practices. OnboardOffboard employees in HRIS System Process employee maintenance (new hires, tax forms, status changes, terminations, etc.) and verifications of employment. Processing garnishments which include child support, tax levies, student loans, etc. Managing workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely Audit payroll reports and invoices Maintain and update payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and security. Collaborate with internal teams, including HR and benefits administration, to align payroll with client needs. Stay up to date on changes in payroll laws and regulations, advising internal and external stakeholders as needed. Train and mentor junior payroll specialists, providing guidance and support as needed. Qualifications: CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification required. Minimum of 5+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a PEO, ASO, or similar multi-client environment. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including wage and hour laws, tax reporting, and compliance. Experience with multi-state payroll processing and related tax implications. Proficiency in payroll systems such as PrismHR, or similar platforms. Advanced Excel skills and experience with payroll reporting and reconciliations. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and client service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams. High attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a PEO, ASO, or payroll service provider environment. Knowledge of benefits administration, 401(k) processing, and workers' compensation reporting. Familiarity with payroll integrations and automation tools. Education: Bachelor's Degree andor equivalent experience Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation required.
