The successful candidate will:Perform speech and swallow evaluations.Perform cognitioncommunication skills evaluations. Perform modified barium swallow (MBS) studies for patient of all ages. Determine appropriate diet recommendations. Coordinate with dietary, nursing, and medical staff in managing diet textures, consistencies and restrictions. Educate residents, nursing, patients and families regarding alternative nutrition methods. Document initial assessments, follow-up treatments, results of MBS, etc. according to departmental and institutional policies and standards.Mentor SLP students and affiliates.Be a role model for other members of the team, while modeling the WE CARE values of the institution.Required Qualifications: Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an institution accredited by New York State.3+ years of related experience in an acute hospital setting.Proficiency in performing Modified Barium Swallowing (MBS) studies.Excellent bedside manners, effective and efficient communication skill, and strong time management skills are required.Preferred Qualifications:Work Schedule:Sunday to Thursday; 9:00am to 5:00pm (Full-Time)Salary GradeRank: SL-3Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualificationsExecutive Order:Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
