Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Visit us at DescriptionPURPOSE OF POSITION:Under direct supervision of Chief Operating Officer, to promote vision and patient satisfaction of the hospital services, Associate Director of Healthcare Standards is responsible for non-medical functions relating directly to patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Oversees in planning the operations of the Department of Admissions and perform related work.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Oversees the performance of all admissions department functions which include bed planning, transfers, discharges, visitations and other related work.2. Rounds to ensure timely bed assignment availability on inpatient unitsadult ED ped ED.3. Collaborates with clinical staff to ensure patient transfers to designated facilities.4. Oversees Death CertificatesBirth Certificates.5. Attend safety huddle meeting and follow up on issues related to admitting department.6. Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements including TJC, NYSDOH and HHC Board of Directors, etc.7. Document and communicate occurrences that require administrative intervention.8. Function as the contact personliaison to the Emergency Medical service, Medical Examiner's Office, Organ Donor Network and other agencies and organizations who relate to patients and their families.9. Supervise and train clerical associates, assistant coordinating manager, and navigators.10. Participate in corporate meeting analyzing data and providing insightfeedback on issues11. Participate in the Command Center at the Hospital in response to disastersemergencies12. Performs other duties as assigned by leadership as needed.Minimum Qualifications1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Health Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and, 2. Six years of full-time, paid experience of progressively responsible level in hospital administration with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of health care delivery services; or, 3. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital or Health Administration, Health Care Planning, Public Health, Administrative Medicine, Business Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and, 4. Five years of full-time, paid experience as indicated in (2); or, 5.
