This role is responsible for leading a team to help achieve results of the Business Unit, developing strategies for growth and sales in the Service Line, achieving Service Line revenue goals and project performance. The Service Line Manager provides technical direction and management to a group of employees in the service line, and for continuous improvement of scopes of work within service line to optimize SSR's approach to sales and project delivery. This position is responsible for ensuring that projects within the service line are delivered on time, within budget, and of the highest technical quality. Ensures all products, initiatives, and processes are in conformation with organization's established policies and objectives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Coordinates with the Business Unit Director on service line strategy, staffing, and salesrevenue goals and forecastingHolds responsibility for service line project profitability. Service lines within Business units do not have separate financials, but financial success is measured at growth and profitability at the project level.Collaborates with the Business Unit Director on revenue management •Holds responsibility for growth and sales of service line.Ensures that projects within the service line are executed on time, in accordance with the client's requirements, and within company policies, procedures, and standards •Works to continuously improve and optimize and modernize how scopes of work are sold and executed within the service line.Mentors staff on project financial management, project management, and client relationsInteracts with clients regarding SSR services, project leads, proposal requests, and client maintenance activitiesCoordinates with Business Unit Director on company standards, industry trends, and corporate directivesPerforms resource management duties such as weekly man-hour assignments and allocationInterfaces with Client Relationship Managers and Project Managers to determine project staffing needsApproves timesheets to assure that project allocations are correctManages the staffing levels and utilization of the service line by tracking performance statistics, maintaining communication with team members, and facilitating employee allocationWorks with HR to plan and execute employee development and technical training including facilitating development through internal trainingEvaluates the performance of technical staff and provides salary and bonus recommendationsLeads efforts for staffing within service line, recruitment, selection, and development of team membersOversees and guides project teams in carrying out design and engineering tasksReviews unusual or complex design problems and provides guidance for a solutionEnsures that all necessary inter-discipline coordination and other communications are being effectively accomplished at all levelsResolves disputes and conflicts that develop within the service line or with other business unitsPrepares template project plans to be utilized by team to increase efficiency of project execution and trainingResponsible for oversight of team's technical standards and oversight of implementation on projectsResponsible for the technical quality of work performed within the teamReviews unusual or complex problems and provides guidance for their solutionsProvides key project leadershipResponsible for oversight of other team members in successful project executionResponsible for assisting in training and development oversight of colleagues within disciplineNetworks throughout the industry to identify opportunities and builds maintains client relationshipsCreates and supports an environment of collaboration and engagement within the teamMaintains knowledge of new technical developments in the discipline and assists technical leaders in the dispersion of this knowledge in the departmentKNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:KNOWLEDGEProficiency in industry Energy Modeling software such as BPE ManagerProficiency in AFDD software platforms such as EBCx managerStrong knowledge of Building Automation Systems design and deployment such as EBCx Manager and BPE ManagerStrong knowledge of green building standards and approach to certification such as sustainability Consulting Manager and BPE ManagerProficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) softwareStrong knowledge of Architectural and MEP systems design process, delivery approaches, and deliverablesStrong knowledge of construction delivery approachesProficiency in project managementStrong knowledge of building codes and regulationsKnowledge of marketing and sales techniquesGeneral knowledge of accounting and how to create and maintain budgetsStrong knowledge of engineering theories and methodologiesProficiency in resource allocationKnowledge of contractsUnderstanding of SSR's disciplines, work products, and execution of processesSKILLS AND ABILITIESComprehension - ability to understand information, ideas, and direction presented in writing andor verbally communicatedWritten Communication Skills - ability to clearly deliver a message through written words using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuationSpeech Clarity - ability to speak clearly and in a common language so that others can understand youVision-Planning - ability to see a desired end goal and employ the specific and necessary means of achieving that goal while maintaining the overall vision of the organizationDetail-Oriented - ability to achieve accuracy and thoroughness when accomplishing a task;
